Default Patching

Okay people, can someone explain what will the benefit of patching my sl65 camping reciever??
I am pretty good at doing tech stuff on pc's etc, but cant quite get the jist of patching a sat reciever and what I could gain from it.
I am aware that most electronics do not operate to thier full potential so how will it improve from patching?
Cheers for the help,
Daniel.

S'alright mate; sh*t happens.

'Patching' a receiver is primarily to load unofficial software to a receiver which enables the receiver to perform additional functions the principal of which is the ability to view some channels that might otherwise need to be paid for.

There is an SL65/Comag section (I believe in the receivers section); you should be able to get useful information for your receiver in that section.

Edited to add link for SL65/Comag section: http://www.techwatch.co.uk/forums/co...lvercrest.html
