newbie question

hello boys and girls

got a question.

it may sound really stupid but im going to ask anyway.

basically i live in an area where cable is not available. no v!rgin media or nothing. it is not supported in my area.

only possibility is sly.

i basically want to know what are my options available.

will something like a dreambox or dbox work?
i think i no the answer as no becuase it is cable. but i just want to know for sure. if any cable box will work or not.

if not, then what satailite options apart from sly are available?
