Default Which channels on which transponder ?

hello there

Newbie Lee here, proud new owner of eurovox ex5000 pvr, how you all doing ?

If I may, I have a question ?

How do you find out which channels are on which transponder, because when i set timer to record a programme, it switched to that programme when it began and would not let me turn over to the programme i was watching previous ?

Kind of defeats the object of the recording facility.

I live in the North West Liverpool Area VM area.

The box also went to standby by its self at exacly midnight last night, cant see any timers set.........any ideas ?

Thanks in advance

Lee

Hi and welcome to Techwatch

you need to view your channel data file using either the Unified flash loader or voxer. you will find that some transponders have as many as 30 channels while others may have only 2.
here is an example

Hi Smoggy

Thanks for your quick and informed reply. Just a little bit too technical for me though.

Can you talk me through what you mean in simpleton terms please, are we talking connecting box to pc or something ?

Many Thanks for your time and patience

Lee

if you connect your box to your pc you can upload your channel data file and see which stations are on which frequency.or if thats not possible you can press info on your remote twice and it displays amongst other things that channels frequency, you could then make notes of the channels you watch and record from and see which ones are on the same frequency, hope this helps.

can i jump in here, and ask if its possible to edit the amount of channels each frequency has?
ie. One frequency may have 1 channel i like and about 5 i simply don't want. Could i somehow delete the ones from the file, withou having the ball-ache of doing it manually on the box?

Sorry for hijacking, but its a good question, honest guv'nor!

yes, have a look at my previous post, as you can see there is an option to delete selected program. Just click on channel to highlight it and press the delete box

aah yes, thanks smoggy. Follow up queston then. Is this file only for eurovox? Or can i adapt it for whatever prog i use on my pc. Currently trying mediaportal.

Thinking about it i don't believe you can, but i'll await your answer all the same.

I wouldn't have thought so but I have never had anything to do with media portal
the file is uploaded from your eurovox to the pc so is specific to EV
