Angry Buzzing Starview

I have just purchased a Starview 3 and I would like to say thank you to everyone who has posted advice on here. It took me quite a while before I understood what I was doing and a fair bit of reading but I could never have got it set up on my own.

I just have one strange issue that I cant get to grips with. When I link my Starview to my main TV I get a buzzing through the speakers. The louder I turn the volume the louder the buzzing. I have tried to narrow it down best I can and it seems to be caused when I plug the cable feed into the back of the Starview. The strange thing is when I use all the same leads but use another smaller TV it works fine and I don get the buzzing at all.

I would love to get it sorted however it also bugging the hell out of me as I would like to understand what is causing it.

If anyone can help please I would be very grateful, - Jimbob

And it only occurs once the coax is plugged into the SV3? When you say you tried it on another TV with the same leads, was this including the same coax feed?

Hi, yes it only starts buzzing when the coax touches the cable input on the box. I have also tried using audio through my amp but still get the buzzing. Its very strange that it is fine when I plug it into my other TV. The only difference is the when I used the second TV I used a power plug from the other side of the room. When I get home tonight I will try plugging the Starview or TV in a separate power socket. Thats all I can think of. It you have any thoughts please let me know

Check the RF connector, make sure the core isnt touching the braid.

Job done

I fitted a thing called a Ground Loop Isolator £9.99 from Maplin the buzzing has now stopped, the only downside is I have had to use a RGB leads so the picture is not quite so good.

I now get a shadow so that will be the next thing to work on, can you please lat me know what the modulator does please

this is the way i see it (I stand to be corrected)
its something to do with converting your video and sound signals and sending them to your TV via the cables, the default channel on mine is 38, your tv is also tuned in to a channel number and if both are the same you may get interference
