I had the exact same issue and spent hours trying to get it going; incredibly frustrating. All I can say is what worked for me. If you have any additional cables (was a USB extender cable fitted on my lead), try removing these. Once I'd done this and plugged the USB adapter directly into the pc, it did the trick for me. The less complicated the better. The other thing I did was change the com port "live" while all was still connected, which triggered a reset and began the process successfully for me. This worked for me at least. Best of luck!

Right, Lets go back to basics...!
1) Remove cable feed from the box. 2)Connect rs232 to your pc - either with or without a usb adapter. 3) Connect rs232 to eurovox **but do not turn the power on** 4) Restart your PC. 5) When ur pc is back up : Go to 'Device manager' (right click on the 'My computer icon' on ur pc and go in to properties. 6) In DM make sure ur cable is on COM1 - u can change the ports by going in to the properties for the driver for you usb/rs232 cable. 7) open the correct installer - use bigmaq toolbar. I'd use version 1.1 rather than 1.1a... or even try it with the first ever release dated 8/07/2008 8) Open insaller and click download - power the box up as soon as you have clicked download. 9) Should start installing it then... If you have probs after that then kick the box and beat up the person you bought it off... oh... one more thing u could try: 1) Connect Eurovox to TV. Go to Menu. and config and Clear Data - Basically reset the box to Factory settings and then try the above....!! Good luck mate |
