Default disk check

Hi i have a usb hard drive that i use to store all my music on

But for some reason when i turn my computer on it always has to check the drive. It dont take long to do but is there a way i can turn this off. The way iv been doing it at the mo is unplug the drive until the computers booted up the plug it back in. Theres gotta be a a easy way

Maybe check the properties of drive in My Computer. If autoplay is set,turn it off. If this is Vista choose "take no action" in the default action settings for the drive. Not sure if this will do the trick,don't know your setup etc. Best of luck ;p
