EX5000 Power Up issue

Hi,

I hav a EX5000PVR and it has a strange problem.

I have the 1.1a firmaware installed and a 120GB HD that all records and works fine.

My issue is strange, when I switch the box on for the first let say after a nights sleep when in standby mode it powers on and freezes? theres nothing on the screen and I can't move channels.

I then power the unit off and on from the switch and it starts working without error for the rest of the evening even when I switch off back to standby mode and back on again.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is ? And the best way to fix.

Unsure of the cause, have a similar issue here so will keep an eye on this thread. When I use standby via the remote, I am forced to use the switch on the back to get the signal back :s Have started just leaving the box on overnight instead. Maybe a glitch or future fix hopefully!

use search, i posted about this after i took my cdf off, i re set the box to factory and rescanned, now i get my updating code box ok and no black freeze

Seamouse, you sound like you know whats what I have never updated firmwer so just reset keys of tcb.cc does this damage box in anyway, can vm brick the box , also keys havnt rolled for quite a while what do you think VM are up to

vm cant kill ur vox, they dont know what it is. update keys u cant on a pvr vox? u can only flash it

My ex5000 has just developed this fault. I have used a downloaded cdf file so I did as seamouse suggested and did a system reset then full scan and sorted my channels manually, unfortunately this hasn’t resolved the fault. Every couple of days I go to switch on the box and I get a blank screen. Have to power off then it starts ok, this makes the ex5000 pointless as its hit and miss if your box auto starts a recording, anyone else sorted this?

Are you sure? Mine has the option to update keys. Menu-Language-1968-1968-then left arrow twice, etc.
