You wont get any new up dates unless they are urgently needed, ie if the cc do a big key roll or present software has flaws

But there is a new box out since yesterday. The Box Super USB. Basically a single tuner PVR, that can be flashed via USB. And recorded files can be transferred via USB.
Wouldn't say its going to make people happy who still have problems with the SV dual tuner PVR. |

Firmware is Beta but already out there. TheboxSuperUSB_V1.01_beta basically download it onto a USB stick. Then attach to USB port on the SV4 press menu, highlight the firmware and press OK. Then its the same installation procedure as all other SVs after that.
Apologies did not see Martin's post. Last edited by satsmo; 09-09-08 at 06:04 PM. Reason: added info. |

I can give it to you or one of the mods to put into downloads. But as said it a working Beta copy, so still a bit apprehensive until its tested for a while. Only have the box a few days but all OK so far, but haven't played with it that much.

From what I've witnessed so far the new Starview with USB is excellent. EPG is so much better than before, picture quality excellent, full auto scan in a 2/3 minutes with channels sorted in published order with correct grouping, recorded picture quality is fab even when copied back to your PC & so far very reliable. Reflashing is a doddle & it can be used with USB hard drives or memory sticks - no playing around with null-modem leads & USB-RS232 converters! Menu is also very clear & better than before, IMHO. Looks like they've started from the beginning & listened to users as it's got a completely new chipset compared to old Starviews.
Hope that helps. |
