Im pretty sure i used to be able to recieve Thor 1 west, but now i checked it and i cant (it says there is no signal). Im not sure if this is related but also one of the metal connections from the dish to the LNB have come off. I have a 1m dish in Manchester. Is it possible that the cause of no signal being recived for this satellite is that disconnected metal bar from the dish to the LNB? Hotbird 13E, Astra 19E etc work fine so thats what i dont understand? or is it likely to be an obstruction ie some trees or something?
Would be grateful for any help. Thanks. |

Will you please provide more information regarding your system otherwise it is very difficult to locate the problem.
Is your dish motorized? What receiver do you have? Can you please be more specific regarding the metal connection, do you mean the F connector that connects the cable to the LNB? Some pictures of the loose metal piece might help to identify it. |

There were several reports over the weekend over on the DS forum that folk were having problems locking Thor, so it may not be your installation.

I would not have thought that a missing arm would have made much difference, but I have never used a dish with them so I don't know. I suggest that you tune to the 11325H transponder and monitor signal quality, whilst gently pushing the LNB arm, to see if you can get a signal.
If it then gets a signal, probaly a good idea to fix the missing arm back on. ![]() |
