hi again,i have got modem working thanks to all u guys who helped me ,first modded 250 on line last night ,cheers again every1,now i have disabled telnet by 1 of the cmds which i shouldnt have done and cant get in the modem,how can i get into it,when i put in mac addy for another modem it shows up as same mac addy i have put in another modem previously,why is that ,i have a rs233 as well

Hi Sofia.
Thirst of all please let us know what Firmware you are using.
If you are using infiniti Firmware then go to
192.168.1.1:1337
In your browser
You should see the
Embedded Telnet Server:Disabled
Click the change button it should now say enabled.
Reboot the modem and telnet/console should now me enabled.

If you are using one of the other firmware going around with telnet only access.
then you will have to use your Max232/233 cable.
Just login to the modems console with telnet and run the enable command.
Sorry i don't know the command maybe someone could post it?

infinite 5.01.0100004{lll} cant get into 192 page is there another way access is denied and ntl page comes up

Best thing you can do is re-flash with max232 cable
This will re enable your web interface

I would recommend putting HAXORWARE on your 250
Its much better than Sigma infiniti firmware

If you still cant get into your console with max232 then it looks like you have took one of the updates from VM you will have to re flash with Blackcat cable.
If this doesn't work then it looks like you will have to remove the TSOP chip inside the modem. This doesn't normally happen but it does happen sometimes with the ambit 250/255 modems.

if its a 250 or 255 and has no 1 2 p option but detects in hyperterminal it can be fixed without lifting the tsop..
use the app i posted to revive alex firm 250s 255 and the install new bootloader using soft jtag .. ffs does no one read posts..
its console app.

thanks for that joker,but u need to learn no 1 is a genius and thats wat the new thread is for .for peeps to direct them in the right place ,dont put them off in coming to this site by using them kind of remarks

Be careful when running that console app

Turn off all antivirus anything that could make it crash during the modding!

Its crashed due to my av and now i cant get the console at all Only power light!

Looks like a TSOP job for me

or Jtag!

sofia connect the rs233 cable, tell 250 configurator to use the serial connection, tick the telnet enabled box and all should be well again.

sorry i should have explained better, connect the max cable to the modem and the computer, power up the modem. Start 250 configurator, select serial as the connection type, click connect, the configurator will read the settings from the modem, if the only thing u want is to enable telent then tick the telent enable box, take the tick out of force config box (its there by default) click write settings, and the modem will reboot.
