Hey guys,
Right...basically I need some help with getting my flashed modem up and running. I bought one of said modems off ebay and it came with a set of instructions and programs that I need. I have followed all of these and still no connection. I am using the ambit config tool and have made sure my area is telepest, entered a working 20mb mac address, entered cm-20480-768 as the tftp config filename, and entered the correct tftp filename (uddingston). According to him you click apply, unplug the modem, restart the computer, plug it back in and away it goes. of course, no such luck. The mac address I have is from ubr02.dunb.blueyonder whereas my computer is connected to ubr01.dunb.blueyonder so I assume it should work? Also, something interesting. When i reconnect the power to the modem, the IP address I am assigned is the modems IP (192.168.100.1 or whatever it is), but when I change the "physical address" in device manager for my ethernet card it assigns me an address of 169. something.) I am using Windows XP, I have unplugged my router and disabled all firewalls. Do you have any ideas as to whats wrong? Cheerrs folks

Hi I am Just up the road in hamilton.
You cant force configs up here you have to used the speed thats on the mac you have Here is a screenshot of my settings that work for me you mite have to change the tuner settings depending the modem you have. And make sure the settings are the same as mine or it wont work! Hope this works for you if it doasent i should still be able to get you sorted. ![]()

Thank you very much for your reply sir!
I tried putting all the settings the same as you but to no avail. They had previously had the Infinite firmware loaded, the modem set as ambit 250 and the area set as telewest. I put all the settings the same as yours rebooted modem but still didn't work. Even tried changing the annex to annex_b (as that says it's for tw) with the rest of your settings the same but still nothing. Sorry to bother you, but this has had me pulling my hair out for 4 days!

Also make sure that you have changed your mac address of your network card And it has to be one that makes sense TW has started blocking ethernet macs If you have been scanning.
use TMAC 4.7 this makes macs that look real ALSO remember your modem mac has to be from another ubr from you around 1 to 2 miles away. If you need any help via msn PM ME
