Default starview the box problem please help??

Hope someone can help me here i have just bought a starview 2 and when i start it up i am getting no logo screen and am just getting a black screen. My tv is picking a signal up from the box as when i switch it on i go from black and white fuzz to the narrow screen you get when you switch sv on. I cannot access any menus and the only button that does anything on the remote is the standby. My sv says "on" on the display
I hope someone can help me im at my wits end!!

I haven't seen a SV without any firmware loaded but thats what it looks like to me, I think you probably need to flash it with the latest firmware.
