Default Eutelsat 16E DigitAlb

Any suggestion on how to improve my 11.449 Digi Super sport signal
M Vision HD box only pulling 50%Quality (no channels) with my Clarke Tec Pulling just 64%.
I managed to watch England last night, but the sound and Picture was poor.
The night before was very cloudy and I had no picture
I have a Clear 82cm dish with a LNB 0.2 and an in line amp close to the dish power by the receiver.

Would a new LNB 0.1 help?

Thanks Shacks

Hi

What is the amplifier for? It is only needed for excessively long cable runs.

Is your dish aligned perfectly?

What cable are you using?

If everything you have is optimal, the only way to improve matters is to get a bigger dish.

Maplins non variable type £11.99 Recommended for 40+Mtrs although run is more like 30 Mtrs

I used a sat finder (Bleeper type) for the signal and it’s fixed towards W16 deg although when at hot or 19Deg east 98% signal Quality.

Cable is Maplins double screened (the most expensive they had)

I did have a sold dish 70CM (I think) at my last location and got 79% SQ

I am in the Eastbourne area so reception should be good

Your dish is too small - a 1m is recommended for DigitAlb sports in the UK

Don't know if it helps much but i have a 78cm motorised dish with a 0.1 lnb and can get 75-80% signal quality in the lowestoft area.
I did find skewing my LNB gave me nearly 10% on signal quality during my installation.

Is this the cable you are using?

Satellite TV Cable FT100 > Maplin

For 30m of cable, the amplifier is not necessary, I would be tempted to try it without, as it shouldn't improve your signal, more likely worsen it.

Also try tweaking the dish and LNB skew whilst actually monitoring the transponder you are after. As AS says your dish may be a bit small, as 80cm is the bare minimum for DigitAlb.

The be all and end all of this thread is that you need a bigger dish

0.1dB lnbs don't exist

Its a theoretical level which can only ever be obtained in extremely cold conditions which you are unlikely to ever see in the UK. Its basically just a marketing ploy

There is very little difference between a 0.1dB lnb and a 0.3dB one

My 80cm dish is aligned perfectly and i have trouble with some transponders on 16e in poorer weather

You need a good quality dish of at least 90cms although a 1m one would be better

My 80cm gets DigitALB very well and I am 30 miles away.
