Hello there - i have 2 40GB hard drives i got out of 2 pace boxes. i want to use them in my XP PC. the HD is being detected in BIOS but not in windows. The hard drives are specially formated with the ski system i think....does anyone know what i have to do to use them with my PC?

Whats a ski system? Is it a type of yoghurt??

As far as I know, the sky hard drives are formatted in a file system that windows doesn't recognise.
I think you need a program called copy plus. Try googling that and see if it helps. |

In which part of Windows are you looking?
The drives won't show up as a letter (eg. "E:") until they have been partitioned. To do that you need the disk management. Start>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk Management. Then look for the unrecognised disk of closest total size and select it, right-click and chose the operations from the drop-down. You may have to delete the partition, before you can create new ones on the disk. Be sure it is the correct disk, know what other drives you have installed, their partition type, capacity, used space, volume names, and avoid touching those. |
