I have had my motor setup up now for a week or so, and have been playing around trying to get some more satellites.
I really want to get 16e, which i have been told i should be able to get. I have a 65cm Fortec Star dish, and the Fortec Star LNB supplied had a scew fault on them. The LNB works for others, so don't know whether this adds to the problem. I can get 19.2e and 13e, but i can't get anything in between.... Is there a certain Transponder i can be looking for that is stronger, or am i just looking where theres no point? Thanks |

Yes, that is probably the only transponder you will get from that sat, with a dish that small, I used to get that one on my minidish.

You should get some of the high symbol rate Bulgarian channels as well, although the perceived downlink powers are all over the place on 16E.

Ah right thanks. Will give the transponder you said a go, then see what happens from there.
Also one more question. I have also been told i can get 9e, i can pick it up, but very weak. Picture break ups all the time, signal in the 70's, but quality only in the 40's. Is this again the dish size causing the problem? |

9E is very high power indeed - easily as high as the Hotbirds. (in fact EB9 is the old Hotbird 2)

So could this be a problem with the LNB?
As i said, and its been reported on other forums, that the LNB i got with the Maplin set, has a fault with the scew angle, meaning it has to be turned clockwise for optimum usage. |

Lnb, dish alignment, take your pick
Get the signal peaked up on 13E then nudge the lnb round a bit - the width of the lnb head will be close. Dont forget to raise the lnb a tad - half an inch will be plenty.

You're not wrong there AS, getting a whopping great signal on 9E, amongst others, 11843V/27500.
Also found another HD channel on there, thanks Ramsfan, (Melodyzen.tv)
