The box is officially a free to air receiver, you connect your aerial and you get the same as any free to air set top box, it is normally supplied with free to air firmware on it.
but it has the facility to have a different firmware put onto it, this firmware will unscramble all the encrypted channels that are supplied down the media cable feed, it is the fitting of the cable supply to the box which is illegal so you have to make the decision of whether to do it or not. |
