what do you mean doesn't recognise? do you get anything like "to play this game put it in an xbox 360 console", or do you just get a Disc Read Error?

hi m8 i had the same prob last week would not accept any type of disc
if u go to xbox.com and sign up and register ur xbox it will tell u how to get it repaired the cost of repair is cheaper than if u call them direct
when i called they quoted me £65+vat did it online and it was £57 inc vat and inc courier to and from microsoft and i sent it monday had the item back friday and the replaced the dvd drive and the mainboard so it shouldnt suffer from the rrod

I don't think it will be a new lite-on they still have loads of old refurb parts to use.

Was your 360 a hdmi one?
