Default Re: Modem no longer working!! Please help a noob!

ok, tried will try and get my hands on the 250_configurator_fixed file, no wonder the nicmac changer wasn't doing much when I tried it last night!

I used the sniffer though and got a load of macs although I am unsure if they are ok. It asked me to enter a mac to search so I entered the expired one which my modem is currently using and changed the last 2 digits to 00. I scanned via brute force and a load came back, all the same as the expired mac except different last 2 digits. Hope this is ok?

Despite a lot of comments saying I'll need to get ubrs from a different area, the readme for DHCP Sniffer-0.2.3.91b says that its specifically designed to sniff for macs that can be used in the same area. I used it on a pc about 5 miles away from my house via a BT connection so I hope they are ok.

I will try to find a 250_configurator on the web today as my work is still not letting me download anything from the d/l section of this site. Does it matter if its not the fixed configurator? what was fixed?

Thanks all for your help, especially afcwomble. God sent mate!!

on the modems webpage the pass is

Infinite
SetValue with the I S and V all capitals

to connect for telnet in say hyperterminal or 250configarator the default is admin infinite

and if none of them work then your only option is the max232/33 cable as already suggested
