Had it since it was launched.

Pro:
Easy to use/update etc
Quality pic
Looks nice
Cheap

Cons:
No buttons on front - so if ur remote goes - erm then its useless unless u buy another remote!
Subtitles - Cant get them working..! They work on the standard teletext channels but not on ANY of the other channels.

Thinking of getting one of these for my brother's house - but I dont really want to have to go back several times to fix small problems (he's about as clued up on Techie things as your average member of the Amish community). This is the main reason I'm not thinking of getting another pvr version as I have at home.

are there any problems with the current firmware? (not the fta version) as on the ex5000 I had to do a quick update to 1.1a as the audio description channels couldn't be switched between .

any other glaring annoyances aside from the obvious need not to let the kids/wife/dog damage or lose the remote control?

i dont have the slimline but have you updated to the latest sw or do you still have the orig fta sw.
if you have updated sw is the emu enabled and have you left it on ss1

I've got one, took about 5 mins to set up and have had no problems at all with it other than manually updating some channels every now and then.
