Disappeared channels - Sky sports 1

Hello my name is Simon,

I have recently purchased a eurovox box and initially had no problems setting it up, I was able to to receive all the channels and everything was working.

Then yesterday when I went to some channels (most importantly sky sports 1) it said that there was no signal. I have since rescanned for channels and it has now just been removed entirely from my channel list.

I have browsed through the forum quite thoroughly looking for advice. I have tried manually adding the frequency which i believe to be 491.00mhz but that doesn't seem to have worked, it hasn't added any channels to my list. I have tried multiple times to search again but it is still not finding these few channels. I have also tried restoring factory settings but this has also not helped.

I have not tried reinstalling the firmware as I do not have a serial port on my home computer and don't want to unnecessarily smuggle it into uni again if possible.

If anyone could answer telling me what might have caused this to happen that would be helpful, I'm the kind of guy that needs to know why to do something not just what to do.

I am currently in the west midlands which is a former Telewest area if that helps.

1) Go on to relevant channel
2) Press INFO twice on ur remote
3) Write down the frequency of the channel
4) Go to menu>installation>fast install>advanced install
5) Change FAV SORT to OFF and press EXIT - NOT OK!!
6) On the next screen, go to the frequency noted in step 3, press OK on that freq
7) Press GREEN for MANUAL SCAN
8) Wait - blank screen for approx a few mins.

If u dont have these menu's then:
follow the instructions 1 - 3 above then go to user installation screen highlight the transponder with the freq you got at step 3 then press ok and you will see a tick appear besides it then press the corresponding colour on your remote for manual scan.
