im trying to copy my mac, and at present im 3 doors away from my house... and my house mates keep saying it keeps kicking them off the net?

any help

its a ambit 250 and first one I have ever tried to do

Hi, you have to use a mac from a different ubr (area) from your own

i am noobie too.but,i know you need to go to a mates house about 1 mile away.this way if you check your ubr (check haynes guide) it tells you how to check your ubr,then go to your mates he will more than likely have different ubr.its like postcode.where you might be bg1 your mate is bg2 (whatever) then use dhcp and sniff for macs from his pc on his internet connection.

Each town (district) is split up into ubr's, imagine the segments of an orange laid flat and a mac will only work once in each segment so you need to go to a different segment to obtain a mac to work in a different ubr. the best way is to go to a friend in a different ubr,and copy theirs or run dhcp from their pc and harvest multiple macs, take them home and try them till you find one that works. You'll probably find a copy of DHCP on this site or google it

im a ex telewest installer in my area as as far as i know, my WHOLE town is on the same ubr
