Default Eurovox Max V 2008 Channel's Missing Dublin

Hi,

Just joined the forum, and have read many of the threads
but none appear to answer my issue.

Details :
Eurovox MaxV 2008 Black
Model : DVB-XC BoxV TDA
S/W : 1.0 STC4 Apr 28 2008
H/W : 2.0t K5
Bootstrap : v001
SW Build : kuro

Box had stopped working for a friend of mine he gave it
to me to try and revive it.

It has been flashed with :
UFL_MaxV_Kuro3_28_04_08_T
Which is the 8% Flash fix.

1. I connect to NTHELL

2. I do a Menu->Installation->Fast Install with symbol
rate 6.887

3. It finds only 6 frequencies
291, 299, 307, 323, 355 and 363
and therefore I only have 64 channels, i should be
getting around 142 according to other posts in this
forum.

I thought if I could manually add the missing frequencies
this would work, but I've not been able to figure out how
to add the new frequencies manually. Is it possible ?

Is there some black magic that I am missing ?

The 64 channels I have are all functioning fine.

One thing but I don't know if this makes any difference
the coax cable is plugged firstly into my subbed box and then from the subed box into the EuroVox, would this have any adverse affect ? Should I be splitting the input before going to the NTHELL's subbed box ?

Any help much appreciated.

cheers

Matt

Try manually adding in 315.000 and let me know what the signal quality is like for that frequency .. .

What is the signal quality like on the frequencies you are picking up?

Manually add/edit frequencies/tps

Lucky13, you rock !!

That's exactly what I was looking for, I now have 139 channels.

Original channels found with Fast Install Scan
CH Freq Signal Quality
01 291 95%
02 299 96%
03 307 98%
04 323 96%
05 355 97%
06 363 96%

Ones I Added manually.
CH Freq Signal Quality
07 315 84%
08 339 84%
09 347 84%
10 371 84%
11 394 84%
12 402 84%
13 419 84%

On this basis the fact that the signal strength is only 84% is probably the reason the Fast scan didn't find them. Should these signals be 100%, any ideas why they might be this poor.

Glad you're up and running

A signal quality of 100% would be too high for the EV and tbh I would have said that also of a signal over 90%. Normally the optimum signal range seems to be somewhere between 76% and 84%.

My own signal is steady at 80/81% and picture and sound are perfect.

If you start to have problems with your picture or sound breaking up then that might be caused by your strong signal. Have a look under the TV Settings on the EV and see if the Signal Booster is set to ON. If it is try setting it to off and switch off and on your box again. But if everything stays good then leave as is.

mattman obviously needed the 8% fix - if he didn't need the fix then he would not pick up any channels at all with it.

mattman now has all the channels available to him from his provider

Hi there I just joined this site as a member so hopefully this isn't in vain.

I have just recently bought a eurovox max 2008 black. I've done a full scan and I can only get 66 channels maximum. I've tried manually adding channels and frequencies as done by MATTMAN below but it never added any more. Frequency 315.000 picks up a quality % of about 15 or so.
I'll add that my box is the same as MATTMAN and i'm also with the same cable provider.

Is there a particular frequency range i need to enter in manually for the dublin area. I'm missing all the best channels it seems: Setanta sports 1 , 2 /sky sports 1, Sky Premiere and a few others. Seemingly you should be able to pick up around 150 channels.

If anyone has any info at all for setting this box up correctly within the Dublin area please let me know.

Thanks in Advance.

What firmware is on it? And here's a list of frequencies you should be picking up:
291
299
307
315
323
339
347
355
363
371
395
403
419

All should be in and around 80% to 85%.
