Total noob please help

wait a sec, im reading this haynes tut now but i just took alook at this software ambitconfig and do all i have to do is put in my tftp and mac address and thats it, i noticed there is a few things, USB NIC MAC ADDRESS, how would i find that out is that just another mac address ? and TFTP filename which one i am meant to install that for that ? on this tut it says cm-10240-384 is that what im meant to select ? and obviously do i do this with just the power in the modem and not the cable feed.

pm your email addy m8 have a read and look at software all will be clear...all you need to flash is max232, mac address and ambitconfig

ok your doing it from scrach so this is going to be long 1 lol,,
first when you get modem only plug in power and earthnet lead and max232 lead, find out if you can get p up read tut...
go to this part after this you can use ambittool to do the rest..
Set the LAN card back to dynamic IP and Gateway and reboot the modem.
Give it a minute to power up.


when reading tut it says connect nthell cable (dont)till you change to a new username and password, and last dont type copy and paste

right ok so follow tut to that part where i find out if p is there then if i can see p i cna just use ambit tool to do it all, if i cant see p i have to downgrade. sounds like the good old time with the max232 chip incable boxed to downgrade to cr2 haha

and if you wont to be fully protected follow this ...

hange the serial numba of the infinite firmware:
power up modem with-out feed just ethernet cable.
now open hyperterminal and set your settings to:
connect using = TCP/IP (winsock)
host address = 192.168.100.1
port number = 23
and login in with user & pass
then copy and paste the stop scan cmd:
