Starview 1 FTA Digital Reciever lost all channels

Hello all

I bought a Starview 1 FTA Digital Reciever (I think its a clone) a few months ago and loaded it with the recent auto-updating image at that time. I am in telewest (now Virgin) cable area in Basildon, ESSEX.

It has been working fine till yesterday when all the premium channels have gone and only free channels like BBC are coming up at the moment.

It came up with a blue info bar on a blank screen informing that its updating something....

I did a re-scan afterwards and got a few 'failed' messages across progress bars on screen.

Could someone please clarify what happened and what I need to do to get it running again? Would a re-flash help?

Also, I've a eurovox ultra in the same house with an auto-updating image which is still working fine without any issues on my cable connection.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks..

I did let it for do that. It updates, then finishes, fails to find/ launch the channel and then tries again, its never ending for hours...

I guess there is more to it than giving it time?

check that key EMU is on

Hi there, I had to input keys manually as one member pointed out in a private email. So the firmware did not update the keys this time I learned.

Where (site/ link) do I check for latest firmware please? Also how (menu?) do I find out the current level on my starview box?

Menu/system information (to find version on the box)

the latest firmware is the crypstar 1.4 (if you don't know if your box is a clone or not use the clone safe version)

The EMU is ON on mine..

I've lost all channels again today, possibly another key roll out and my firmware did not update.. It stays updating from 0 to 130% but nothing comes up and it starts updating again on all the non-free channels.

Here is what I found on the MENU/ system information:
Starview
API ver: 4.00e_E
Boot Ver: 7.0
7. JUN. 2007

It does not look latest but could I am not informed enough to comment. Could someone please recommend the right latest version and the place where I need to load it from?
