Default Anyone Own an EBAY Vag Com Cable?

Just wondering if anyone owns one... and if its any good, i heard the Ebay ones are GARBAGE...everyone tells me to get the Ross Tech ones but they are REALLY EXPENSIVE!!

wanted to do lots of things with audi bmw and vw,
just wondering what the capabilities are

I had a mate that got one from China on ebay and hes had no problems with it

He also bought a load of Car diagnostic gear which also works fine

If you are using it professionally get a genuine cable from Ross Tech. The copy's will not work with any software updates and lets face it if you are using it in a professional capacity it will soon pay for itself. (Shop about some of the dealers, mine cost me £250 ish.)

If it is for our own car by all means get a cheap lead from ebay. But be warned that with the "official" freeware software it is very limited as to what it can do, without having to pay for the software license. (£100 the last time I looked)

Just bear in mind that you aren't just paying for the lead, but all of the research that has gone into the product. I have been to more that one Audi and Volkswagen garages that use VAG Com instead to the manufactures machines for the sole reason that "it's faster and easier to use."

Btw it will not work on BMW's other than EOBD which is rather limited.

do you by any chance have a list of capability differences
