Default Eurovox EX1000 SL with Virgin Broadband Internet

Hi.

I'm currently subscribing to Virgin Broadband 2mb. If i were to buy a Eurovox EX1000 SL box and hook it up to my broadband connection, will it work? Will I get every channel?

I would want to get a splitter so I could use internet and the Eurovox. Is this possible?

Thank you.

Hi and welcome to Techwatch
Yes that is correct, broadband and TV both come down the same line.
you would most probably have to reflash the box with the latest firmware

Splitters and boxes can be bought from LINCSATs shop which is Sticky'd. If ur nice Im sure he'll do them with pre-flashed...! All u do then is plug and scan.

You may want to look at the cable modem forum on Techwatch to get some ideas of boosting that line speed... not that it makes any diff to ur TV but if ur going to do it then u might as well go the whole hog!

Hi
I have just joined the forum I am interested in buying a box & have looked on the net & see there are a few different ones.
I particularly want to be able to record & replay on the box. I see some boxes have USB & others can have IDE hard drives. Which type gives the best replay quality? I am also a bit concerned the type allowing IDE connection as the hard drives could prove difficult to buy in the future as all laptops now have SATA rather than IDE. (Recently I had great difficulty getting an 80 GB IDE drive for my aging Laptop)
All the best
