conflicting subnet masks

Hi all im trying to get a sagem dbox 2, 2 x rom
When i bought it it did boot but not with correct channels for uk
I flased a couple of images to it and after last one hit a problem

a: the remote now does not work
b: the ip zaddress is 198.168.0.1 - fine
the subnet mask is 155.255.255.0 - PROBLEM

I cannot locate it on a network because of the subnet mask as my pc is on 255.255.255.0, i also cannot change the subnet mask on xp as it is apparantly an "invalid range" therefore have no way to re-flash

any ideas on how to either:
reset the subnet of the box (without LAN or remote)
flash the box in windows another way (poss nulmodem)
make windows accept 155.255.255.0

also which image should i be flashing with im in uk and which boutiques should i use (or are they included in the image)

I am to all intents a newb wi dboxes but used to play with the old ondigital boxes years ago

How did it get subnet of that Range

thats what i thought, its been months since i flashed it and havnt used it in the meantime
either it picked it up from the image else SOMEONE (whistles) accidentally pressed a 1 instead of a 2
