Exclamation newbie need help.

hi,

i have an ambit 250 and i was wondering what equipment i will need???

do i need max232 or 233?

seen this max232 on jtags 4 all site

do i need db9 serial also on same site above?

do i need a solder iron and solder?

do i need anything else?

Please help.

All you will need is a max232 cable to change your firmware on a ambit 250/255 & a ethernet cable.

Also find and read Haynes Cable Modem Guide which will give you loads of info.

But

dont i also need a db9 serial cable to connect to pc?

The only reason i'm asking is that i will have to order the stuff and it will take awhile to come.

You can get a strait throe cable.
Make sure its not a null modem cable as this has pins missing!
A strait throe cable has all pins available!

I would recommend Haxorware Image for the modem!

Also remember to be careful when flashing not to mess up the console or you will have to remove the tsop.

Wish the 250/255 had jtag that would sort that problem!
i am not aware of any other way except flashing the chip direct.
if any one knows of a way tto flash without removing the tsop then please let me know.
i have 3 250's and 2 255 i also have a 256
