Technomate 5400ci+ and a motorised dish. Speak to Southern satellite [he is a member here], am sure he can get you those two for around £200.

Thanks for that. A stupid question really - is it then "just" a case of mounting the dish and installing everything correctly and all these fta channels then are ready to watch?
We have a good southerly aspect and the mounting pole for the dish is on the third floor balcony? How do I go about getting a card (don't know what) to watch sport and movies if I don't live in UK as gettign any subscription will be difficult or not? Thanks |

If you are good with DIY, have very good access to a good location for the dish and can follow instructions, then it may be worth it. There are instructions on how to set them up on these forum - one of them is a sticky if I remember correctly.
For the FTA, everything you will need will be on the Astra 28e I believe - Basically, same direction as sky dish in your area will be facing. But since you are intending on going down a motorised dish, I would suspect it needs right calibration and setting etc. [You will also have more free stuff from other sat I believe] If you get a technomate machine, this can be easily patched up [you have to do this your self, and from what I have read here, it is dead simple] and it will open up most channels that may require cards. Having said that, there are some channels that it is almost impossible to view at the moment without actively buying a card. Oh by the way, I am in the same process of setting up my motorised dish and am getting someone to do it instead - saves all the hassel. ![]() If you dont mind me asking, where are you based? I know a couple of people in Brussels who have motorised small dishes (60cm; in fact, one of them a Sky dish) with very good results. One of them did it DIY, while the other was installed by a semi-pro. (In fact, I have on occasion help to realign one of them and fine tune the other). If you are going to motorise a small dish like that, it should be relatively easy to do and we will be very happy here to talk you through it.
