Can you please post more details on your receivers.
Also what satellite dish have you got set up, is it fixed or motorized, and what satellites can you receive?

From a quick search, on google, these seem to be old S*y boxes and are of very little use in our satellite hobby.
You will not open any S*y channels without a legitimate subscription card, so if you only have a mini dish pointed at 28.2E then you will have to stick with Freesat.
Have a quick read through the Satellite FAQ's section, it should open your eyes to other satellites apart from Astra 2.

no buy a t/mate 1500 or some think like that you will get sod all with what you have . sorry matrix on all stb now opens very little , joke opens no channels at all makes a good card reader , and yes the dragon will open some but with the 1500 put the patch on and a good few will open , have a good read will help , so new stb and a motor and away you go .

The old Amstrad DRX 550 was an old S*y receiver so it might not even have a CI slot therefore you would not be able to insert a Matrix, or any other Cam into that receiver.
Added to that these boxes only had one purpose, and that was for S*y so I shouldn't imagine they will be of much use for anything else.
If you want to access your Matrix Cam try using your Cas 3 programmer.
Insert the Cam in the CI slot of your Cas 3 programmer.
Start up the Cas Studio software, click on the Utilities tab, and then click on the Common Interface Host icon.

Red face Re: newbie with cas3 device need novice guide

it does have a ci slot nearly all receivers have the ci slot there is usually a small plate on the back of the receiver with 2 screws in it take it off behind that is a ci slot but the drx550 does not seam to have a ci menu loaded on it i have a couple of pace boxes the same now does anyone have an up to date image of the matrix i have tonns of new keys for it. and what is the best direction to point my dish i was told albanian was the best as they get alot of the same same stuff as sky but it has albanian subs
