Default Looking fo a Dreambox Installer!!!!!!

Hi guys after a few months of being totally bamboozled, is there any guys who would come over and set up my dreambox, i would gladly pay for any time, expenses incurred, etc. I just have not got a clue on how to get premium channels, all in all after my initial set up that took weeks, i can probably watch about 20 channels....none in english by the way!!! so if any of you clever peeps or know of anybody that does the biz....many thanks in advance...ian. i live in stoke on trent by the way.

I can help you if you like mate, i can't visit but i can go through it with you on MSN. At least that way you will understand what i'm doing so you will gain an understanding of how the box works

May cost you a small donation to the forum though

What image do you have installed and what emu are you using.

More to the point though is what box you have

hi nano thanx for the prompt reply. right the answer to your questions. i have a dreambox 7000s dvb. i assume the image you mean is when im inbetween changing channels its like a view of earth half of it!!! i take a emu is the name gemini project???? sorry about my lack of knowledge mate lol....this may take a while....sorry i dont understand the jargon i will try harder .....promise..so i had my dish set up by a sattellite guy motorised he then spent an hour going through my remote control then made a excuse like i have never done one of these before...charged me 80 quid and left. so i tuned some channels in myself following the 80 page thick instructions. and that is as far as i have got...so its over to you clever lads to grap the glory now i have done all the spade work..lol i bought the dbox of a lad at work who previously bought it off ebay. so i just assumed it would be all set up and ready to go....not so.

Hi completenovice. Welcome to the forum.

The Dreambox is not a plug and play box but if you follow set procedures you should be up and running in no time.

Do you have your Dreambox connected to your pc via a lan cable or better still do you have a local network connected to the internet via a router? If you have either, you will need FlashWizard and an ftp programme like FlashFXP on your PC. If not you will need to connect from your PC to the Dreambox via a null modem serial cable.

Also if you can get a usb memory stick, 512 MB would be ok, then it makes life a bit easier and more fun. As nano say, he can run through the details with you via msn instant messaging.

Sell a 7000 for a 500s WTF are you going on about

Its a well known fact that 500s Dreamboxes are absolutely sh!te at controlling motors. The 500 isn't even in the same league as the 7000, it doesn't even come close

Completenovice i would ignor Abott as he clearly is only interested in making a quick buck.

With a bit of perseverance we will get your box running perfect without you having to shell out anymore money

I could also show him how to set it up. I'm just down the road in Wolverhampton

The other thing i find quite funny is the fact that you can no longer get Genuine DM500s models as they have stopped making them which would make me think you are selling Clone 500s boxes which you can get for £49

I know a lot more than you might think so you will have to get up pretty early in the morning to catch me out

If you are charging to connect to your box that makes you a commercial cardshare server pure and simple.

I see there is no mention of you owning any sex cards which means you are sharing somebody elses card and i can guarantee that they don't know about it

Oh and by the way the infraction is for calling me an arsehole

abbot, you may be selling Dreamboxes but you dont know anything about them.

A 7000s at £200 is better value than a 500s at £50
