Default Fed up with Sky channels

Hello all,
i am a tv addict and fed up with sky. i was in canada recently and my brother has a private dish and receiver installed with a one off cost of $200. he gets all the US scrambled channels (news, movies, porn)for free. he says the receiver is programmed thru a software which unscrambles the channels. sometimes the channels gets hit and then he gets the update or codes from a website by connecting the box with pc and wollah the channels are on again. i have googled and i guess i cant get US channels here in scotland(glasgow). after reading many threads on this website i did figure out that i can get 1000's of channels including movies, music, porn etc but how im confused. i have a budget of 200 pounds and dont want too many dishes in my back yard(one should be enough). i have no idea how to install dish. i have a pc and techie geek. if shown how, i can program box. plz advise me what to get? is it better to get a professional installer to install the dish?

I will advice you to speak to Souther satellite [he is a member here], he can supply you with a technomate machine and a motorised dish. He's got a good reputation around here, if that helps.

Yes you can get loads of stuff, it appears you are a big fan of porn, so get ready for your mind to be blown off. Porn over sat are not regulated like what is shown on UK tv lol.

As for installing a dish, like I told someone before, if you are good with DIY, have a good access and a good location to where it will be mounted and can follow instructions without getting frustrated, then yeah it is worth a shot. Or you can just pay someone to do it for you.

The boxes you will probably get are dead easy to patch - technomate appears to be the easier....Just a case of install patch from a usb deivce etc. Dream box appears to be good, but it have a learningi curve to it.

Be aware the number and variety of hacked channels available changes from weeks to week, and some of the big players will be going black soon

TPS 13E are closing down at the end of the year
Premiere 19E are switching to NDS Videoguard

Analouge sat, what will happen once these happen? Major channel ceasing to broadcast and heavy players going to N*D*S? Is it still worth getting satellite?

Of course its worth getting satellite - if you want the secure foreign pay channels you have to subscribe instead

There are loads, even with English subtitle. I dunno what sat you will need to pick them up from, but from what I have read here, there is a few.
