Hi all,
been trying to get a dragon cam to work with a technotrend connect USB 3650 and UK cable with mixed results. My HTPC can't fit (another) PCI card, and I've got no firewire, so went for this box. Tried to use an old Zeta yellow CAM flashed with Joker 0.79, but this didn't decode with a funcard (although the CAM was recognised). I picked up a second hand T-Rex 4.1 and flashed Predator 3.04 which works, but would not AU. I flashed various other predator files to the CAM, but later versions eg 3.64 cause lots of stuttering and the resultant mpeg is full of errors. I'm using DVBViewer connecting to SageTV, but the technotrend software gives the same results I'm led to believe that the technotrend USB should behave like the budget cards. Has anyone got a Dragon/T-rex to work (flawlessly) and AU with a technotrend, or has anyone any ideas why my Joker wont work? PS I tried (briefly) the latest Vplug, and the recording has a pause approximately every 5 minutes. I haven't got around to working on this- is it anything obvious? KJ |

I would guess that you either didn't do the funcard correctly, so it didn't AU - when you first flash an AU funcard the keys are blank, so it won't work, then when it AU's it does work. Did you reflash the Fun for use in the T-Rex?
OR, the boxkey on the fun didn't match the joker boxkey? |

I initially thought that it was a funcard problem, as it didn't AU, but later the same card did AU after I reflashed the T-rex. I'm not sure that the predator software fully supports n*gra on DVB-C, which is why I'm interested if anyone else uses a dragon/T-rex successfully.
I used all AAs for the BK on the joker (cos I couldn't figure out whether it went in backwards or not- this way it didn't matter), but I might try playing with the default BK. I'm beginning to think that my hardware (the USB box) is at fault, and might need to try some upgrading. Cheers. |

I used the default boxkey from the joker flash as the boxkey on the Fun4. From memory it went in the same way round.
It should work with a Joker. |

Still can't get the joker to work, I think it might be nadgered.
I now think the dragon cam error problem is due to the funcards. I reflashed the card today, and the recorded file was all broken up. Both are 5 years old, and I think it might be time for something new. Should I stick to funcard, or is something else more reliable? Thanks for all the help |
