Now I have a Haxorware modem, how can I force it to be 20MB down.
I'm using a 20MB Mac and I'm forcing the config but I still can only get 8MB. Also, can I now cancel my subscription and this modem will still work? |

You can cancel ur sub but its best to have either the TV package or a modem from them so they wont disconnect you if they need more space to add more customers in the cabinet.

Depending on your area will deoend on you being able to force the config on the modem,if your using a 20meg mac then you should get the 20meg, BUT bare in mind traffic shaping on the network and capping if you hit the limit in the daytime, best bet is to try it later,
Dont cancel your subs !!! If and when the modems go down (its a matter of time ) how will you then access the net??? also ensuring that the CC's get a little bit of dollar each month means youll keep the point in the cab and if you have any faults they sort it out on your subbed line, Marc |

I really do think the speed varies on VM hour to hour.
Back a few years back when it was Telewest, I always got the maximum speed, day in day out. I think VM claim a contention ratio of 1:1 on the 20mb package, but IMO i think its utter bull....LOL |

Hmmmm, i have to disagree with you there mrcrisp. I think my VM connection is very good all the time. I dont have a problem with it. Ive had downloads running at 4 hours straight and it staying well above the 2mb a second mark. Which i thinks brill. Maybe your area and exchange, also the people on the net at the same time. I have alot of old people living in this area which probs means they dont no how to use a pc. No offense to people out there
