am getting ''your smartcard might not be inserted properly...'' on every channel, but the channel works once i press OK... if i take the card out and put it back in, this solves the problem, BUT only untill the box is turned off and back on again... then i get the problem all over again... i've tried with keys and i've tried with out keys (au), but makes no difference...

update...
something strange is going off here and it relates to me recent tread titled '' how baffling.... any ideas? '' i have 2 types of card, the yellow fun card 4 with a crzy woman on the front, and some purple ''open fun 4'' cards with a small pic of david beckham in the corner... all day i was having trouble with the yellow cards. the purple ones would 'work' with AU, and with keys, but i had the problem about smart card not inserted properly. where as the yellow ones wouldn't work, or only work say once in every 10 trys, but again i had the promblem with 'smart card isn't inserted properly... so i've tried making up a random cam id, and now the pruple cards work fine with both au and keys, but the yellow ones only work with keys and not au... even though i'm using the exact same files and card reader for both... is there a certain cam id for ex C&W? i read that some say make one up, but others say as long as it starts`with certain numbers... |

Hi
Make sure it starts with 27 for excw, usually you try and keep it as close to the orig changing last digit or two. If you aint got the orig then start it with 27 with a combination of numbers and letters eg 27 AD etc. Regards |

this happens me but it aint a problem at all , like you said just take card out & put back in again to solve problem. Do the same thing the next day when you turn the box on again, hardly a major problem, you just got to put up with some things ehh mate |
