Default Some Advice...

Hey guys, I'm relocating tomorrow morning, and needing some advice. Someone said that all I have to do is change the mac address of my modem, so in preperation, i've copied all the configs from one of the pages here, and will be looking at doing a DHCP scan when I've done the move. But the person who said about just needing mac addresses, has now said I need to change the frequency of the connection. I'm using a SB5100, currently on ex-NTL and moving to ex-Telewest, so just need to know if this is true. If so, does anyone know the frequency, and if anything else needs to be changed? Thank you,

yup m8 u gana have to change all the setting. If u r moving from pure to pure all u need to do is change the MAC, but if u r moving to different area(TELwest) then all the settings should be changed.

Hope this helps.

Next question is then, how do i go about finding all the settings? The place I'll be staying has cable internet, but its been disconnected for non-payment this month, so looking to get the info tonight before I become disconnected here as well. Thank you,

Again, not asking for the details, just an idea on how to obtain the info.

Right kingofsplooge, you will need to change your modem frequency from your ex C&W to this one : 331000000 or 339000000 this is your downstream frequency and can be changed in the config page.
And you need to scan for macs also in your area and trade them with someone. Use a DHCP scanner and then just PM people if possible on this forum or others
