Hi,

My aunt got a Starview 3 with the decryption software/firmware already installed, so all she had to do was plug it in and scan for channels and now gets all the usual and pay per views free.

I was playing around with it and was looking through the menu and this apparently messed things up. She was told by the person she got it from that she wasn't to use the menu and she had to send it back to get fixed.

Why can she not use the menu? Is this the same method of decryption described in this forum or another method?

Hi there, i think you need too do some resurch and find how the starview works. Search the forum theres all you need to know about starviews (its not rocket science). Help your aunt because whoever sold her the box is a cretin.

Cretin indeed, says he's going to start charging to fix it it happens again, that's why I'm considering using the method on these forums, so it won't be a problem in the future.

If you have any more problems you can PM me. I dont see how you would have messed things up apart from doing a rescan on a different provider. Sometimes if you power them off this can turn the emu off. Go to menu press 1570 and turn it back on.
