UPC Direct / Slovakian Channels - Techwatch: Satellite TV forums, FTA, Cable, Hardware, & Tech forums

Hope someone can help me a customer of mine wants to receive upc direct from either 19.2e, 13.0e, 4.8e.

He is in the Republic of Ireland and really wants a subscription does anybody have any info or ever dealt with them before.

The reason why he wants UPC is that it has TV JOJ, Markiza and other slovakian / czech channels.

Cardsharing is the only way to get UPC if he can offer a card from Sly ROI.

O.k thats weirod I have a 1 metre in the west of ireland and its a no go. I can get certain channels from 23.5 but no markiza, tv joj etc

Could you tell me what frequencies you use and what signal quality you are receiving please.

I can receive all transponders on 23.5 East well.

ah that make sense now. Oh ok m8. Anyone in the U.K. Or ROI feel like moving there dish for me to 23.5 for a min please.

I can JUST get the stronger Astra 3A tp's on an 80 cm or on an offset on my 1m 16E dish if its a nice day, but not strong enough to be watchable.

You are too far west for good 3A reception - you prob need a 1.5 / 1.8 as signal strengths nosedive north and west

Was thinking that, thanks analoguesat. So, does anybody have any ideas how i could get a upc direct subscription from.

This guy has no problems in spending money. I can receive the channels that he wants on my darkbox they are on Thor but I want this to be permanent.

I doubt that he'll get planning permission for a 1.8 - 2.0 metre dish although I would love to fit.
