Hi,
I can only seem to find 11 channels on my Eurovox EX5000 PVR. I have used a direct feed as well as a splitter but it doesn't make any difference. I have restored factory settings and run a power scan and still only pick up 11 channels. The frequency I have in the user installation is: 0001 - 118.000mhz - 6.952mbaud - QAM64 The Channels are: Discovery Channel CNN Discovery Home & Health Animal Planet Discovery Real Time Discovery Channel +1 Discovery Travel & Living Discovery Science Discovery Knowledge Discovery Turbo Sony I'm situated in Surbiton which is between Kingston upon Thames and Tolworth. The cable provider is VM before that it was Telewest. Can anyone help me with this please? Thanks |

Hi and welcome to Techwatch
have you got the latest firmware on your box scan from frequency 100.000 to 800.000 and set step to 8 (you can try step 6 or 7) Last edited by smoggy; 25-09-08 at 03:15 PM. |

I got the UFL_ex5000_15-07-08 file yesterday and downloaded the firmware onto the box using that, I assume that is the lastest version.
I have been scanning frequency 100.000 to 860.000 on step 8, now I have tried step 6 and it found 187 channels Thank you so much. Sould I do a scan with step 7 or is that not needed? and do you think I should get a booster? Thanks again |

the v1.1a is the latest firmware
I would expect to get more than 187 channels you could try step 7 and see what you get but basically one of them will get the most. if you want you could check what transponder frequencies you get on each scan then if you have any different ones to the scan you get the most channels on you could add these frequencies to the box manually. or there is a couple of London cdf files in the cdf files for eurovox thread, one for s.w. london (I think thats your area) |

I got 193 channels on step 6 and about 80 channels on step 7. Do I have to add them all manually because it wouldnt let me add the missing ones (step 7) to the step 6 ones?
Or will this CDF file do it all for me? Sorry I am totally new to all this? |

on step 6 most of the ones you pick up will be the same as step 7 and 8
yes you would have to add any transponders manually and then manually scan those added you should get about 30 - 38 transponders the easiest solution would be to load a cdf file for your area the cdf file for your area should have all the channels on it |

I live in a funny area because people claim it's in different areas.
Place: Surbiton Postcode: KT5 People claim it's either: 1) South West London 2) Surrey 3) Greater London So I'm not sure which CDF file I would need |

upload your channel data file and compare the channels on your transponders to the same transponders on say the S.W London cdf file and if they are the same that will probably be the right one
or open a cdf file with the UFL and see what frequencies are on it that are different to the ones you have, then try manually inputting that frequency to your box and scan it to see if you get any channels |

There were no channels on the telewest south west cdf file, it was blank. So is there somewhere I can download it from, I got the blank one from this forum.

on the very left hand side click on the little + sign to expand the frequencies then click on a frequency to see channels
EDIT : I've just downloaded the one on page 5 of the thread and it works OK for me Last edited by smoggy; 26-09-08 at 11:41 AM. |
