Cable Can - Sky Can't

Can anyone explain why you can mod a cable box, but not sky?

i heard that sky changed the codes quite often, but cable do now and people have solved that

any links/info would be great

Its the security that S*y has and Cable doesnt. The satellite encryption that S*y has is far more superior to cable.
Remember when they changed the S*y cards from the plain logo to the yellow house.
It was an encryption update. It cost them millions.
There has been news of it being cracked but not been released publically, or just that its too confusing :\
It will most likly be done though sometime.
