Ambit 250 Infinite Downstream Wont Lock

All has been working fine until the modem got restarted.

Now it won’t connect to the internet, I have set the downstream freq to my “Real” modems one, and used HyperTerminal to “Write” the number (although it askes for a value?)

That doesn’t work, the number is set correctly when i check the security page, but the modem keeps scanning the downstream freq

What do I need to change? Have I put the downstream freq in wrong?

Just leave the modem powered off for a while longer than usual, this has happened to me as well, as long as your frequency and tftp are set correct, should lock.

try different macs from diff area[few roads away] also dont force your config to u get it working as some areas have stopped forcing configs, use the config for the mac u use...

there been a few posts and threads on this issuie recently, this should fix it just search for mac

just double check all settings ----------------there seems to be a few probs round this isssue latelt--like virgin are fighting back or something--at 1 point ecvery mac i sniffed worked--but noew i have to use ones from a different area to work.....................and some macs wont work if i force config so thats why i said try not forcing firstly....

I had a few moments where my modems wouldn't lock on.
If all settings are correct, sounds like a dodgy MAC address to me.

I do belive my fist problem was caused by me not changing the downstream freq.

on trying to fix it, i pressed the wrong button on the ambit confiq tool. rather than get mac/text link, i pressed apply.

this defaulted the box, put in the wrong area freq and the wrong tftp address. Im so dissapointed with myself!

You're not the only one to be caught out by not first reading the settings and then changing and then clicking apply!

im getting capped @ 6mb on my "modem" only on usenet downloads, if i go to speedtest is shows the 20mb connection.

i will try a different mac tonight, any one got any advise?
