Thanks Jimd,

I knew they were different but you explained it beautifully.

At the moment my Dreambox is connected to my home network via the electric sockets, the network works fine, but I cannot connect to the Dreambox. I can connect to my Vantage as I said before. As the other posts say I have disabled DHCP

The Network Setup is as follows:

Use Interface- yes
Use DHCP- no
IP Address- 192.168.001.024
Netmask- 255.255.255.000
Use a Gateway- yes
Primary DNS 192.168.001.001
Secondary DNS- 000.000.000.000

Where Am I going wrong?

regards

Billet, can you 'ping' your Dreambox from your PC? Is your internet connection via your PC rather than via a router if so there may be firewall problems?

Hi Jimd

Yes I can ping the dreambox. The internet connection is via a router but I am aware of firewall problems, McAfee firewall is off as is windows, the router firewall is also off.

any ideas

Regards

If I go to Menu, Plugins I can download plugins suggesting that the router is happy.

How are you trying to connect? FTP, HTTP, Telnet?
Is your Dreambox set with a static IP or have you set it to DHCP?
Have you changed the default password. I think on the 7025 the password is left blank.

Try telnet 192.168.1.24. You should get a request for the login.

I am trying to connect using Flashwizard Pro V6.3, I have tried both ways, static and DHCP, the box seems happy with either (currently set to DHCP) I have typed the ip address into the internet address bar and accessed nabilosat OK. I am not familiar with Telnet.

OK Flashwizard does not like Enigma2 boxes or perhaps the other way round.

I suggest you try FlashFXP if you have that.

I downloaded FlashFXP and that didn't work either. I don't think it is the software

I have a feeling it has something to do with Vista and network connections.

Why don't you just use DreamUp and connect to the box with a serial cable, no need to worry about the box's IP or that. It does take around 1/2 an hour to do but it will do the job for you. Most of the E2 Images now have the box IP set to 192.168.0.24 so it might work for you then and you can send the new keys and your favorite settings file to the box. And the EMU s also can be sent then.

Good luck with it.

Very best regards Wez
