faulty remote control?

i have a remote for eurovox and which ever button is pressed puts the same menu on the screen its a small menu says teletext and two choices of language. and i have to use another spare remote to get the menu off as the faulty remote wont do anything apart from putting the small menu up. is there anything i can do to rectify the remote or do i need a replacement. thanks

Turn it upside down and see if it still does it. Might be that the 'text' button is jammed on the remote so it is permanently pressed....!
