Default what LNB model to buy

Hi,

This is my current Satellite Configuration

Receiver Model : Star track Sr-55X
LNB : C-ban, Input Freq : 3.4- 4.2 GHZ, Output freq : 950-1750 MHZ , L.O Freq = 5150 MHZ
Dish Size : 1.80 metre

I have picture of my LNB and Dish .

My location is : Mauritius Island, Indian Ocean

The current situation is i have stopped received FTA since 2 months.

I don't know from what satelite i was receiving, but i learn that
with my current LNB i cannot get any channel now and must buy a new type
to be able to get FTA frequencies from other satelites.

Other info i heard is i must put a larger dish about 2.4 metre ,then
using the same LNB i can get FTA from other satellites.Or i have to
change this LNB to a new type so i can get FTA using the same dish.
The guy that install the satelite system don't have it to sell at the moment.

So, i prefer to buy a suitable LNB and using my same dish that will
permit me to get FTA channels from different satellites including far away
satellites also.

Please can you give me an LNB reference that will do the job.

Thanking you in advance.

Hi, with the lack of satellte information it is difficult to advise what you need.

But I suspect that it is a Universal Ku band LNB that you require, as generally a smaller dish can be used.

I have no experience at all with Prime focus dishes, but I believe that you need a Ku-band feedhorn and a C120 Universal LNB. If you go to the Invacom website you will see examples. The feedhorn will probably need to be adjustable so that it can be matched to your dish F/d ratio.

How it would fit it on, I haven't a clue.

You will have line of sight to many European satellites in your location, so take you pick really, depending on what you can actually pick-up with your dish size. You might want to consider motorising it.

In Mauritius there will be virtually no European satellites visible in Ku band! Eutel W2 at 16E should be possible as theres an Indian Ocean/Madagascar spot beam although all the content apart from one part time channel appeares to be encrypted.

Some of the South African services like 68E or 36E might be available if the South Africa spotbeam downlink powers are high enough in your location.

There will also be a few sats radiating C-band that will be visible to you.
