Default Getting started guide?

Anyone know if there is such thing as a guide to getting started with soft and hard cams?? programming them etc.. I'm doing my best to glean info off thiis site and others but stil havent found any 'you need this kit.. do this... then that...' type of info..

I'm new to all this and am just geting to grips with the principles of it all although i'm learning quick and am determined to do it.. I'm wired up for V**rgin and am thinking of getting the blue zeta joker.79... stil not sure of what the benefits of the different smartcards that go in it are though!

also i can get a Twinhan dvb-c with CI slot for half the price of the floppy dvb does anyone know what the benefits of paying the extra money are??

Cheers all!

Hi Del Boy. I have just taken the plunge myself, just waiting for he kit to arrive.

There are guides in some of the posts that have been attached, but as you mention, I have not seen a complete step by step.
I found that reading through the posts here gives quite a lot of information. I then posted the few queries I had left and they were answered in no time.

I'm not in a position to answer the question about the Twinhan card, but the blue Zeta with Joker firmware is the way to go for the CAM. I'm sure someone will be able to answer you other questions

well i've plumped for the twinhan and ordered it today... shame i'm working away until friday other wise i'd be having a crack at it tomorrow!! the guy at the place I got it from seems to think i'll get along fine with the soft cam route so i'll give it a whirl.. at least if I have no luck it has a CI slot to try the 'hard' cam route (does the name say it all ??)

Togaforcomfort.. hope it goes smooth for you! keep us posted...

twintown.. cheers for chipping in - the pm too.. I take it you didn't bother getting the twinhan - what set up do you have then?

on vista media centre i've got a floppydtv - blue zeta (0.79 joker firware) - fun 5 but have used rom11 mosc

on pc, i got technotrend premium 2100c using the TT premium dvb-c tv application with white icecrypt (0.79 joker firware) with fun 5....

also dabbled with softcam, fenrir and yankse before moving onto hardcams

oh yes just remembered - a lot of people had problems running hardcam with ci utilility with the Twinham....softcam worked ok i think....
