Ive had this modem going twice now, and both times its stopped working after an hour or so. I play with the settings for ,what seems like days and it goes again. I get an ip of 169...etc is this soley down to the mac addy? Also im getting SYNC Timing Synchronization failure , is it not connecting because of the mac addy ? thinking of taking up knitting, seems less hassel

Hi sounds like a bad/banned mac.
try another and remember use one from another ubr around 2 miles from you.
also make sure you change your Computer nick address.
I had this problem and that was the problem.
Its easy to change your nick address.
On vista just go to

Control Panel\Network and Sharing Center.

Click view status for your nick.
then properties.
then configure.
then the advance tab.
then network address.
Change the last digit's.

Or you could use one of the many mac changers.
this could be different for xp users once you are in the nick settings its the same.

Once you have done this your modem should get an ip address.
