advice needed please

I am new to all of this so please be patient with me as still trying to get to grips with it all.
my problem is about 9 weeks ago i bought a chipped 2110c installed it and all was fine until about 3/4 weeks ago we lost all the on demand and catchup channels i contacted the guy i got it off and he said the card needs updating and he could do this for me for 40 quid but what has got up my nose is i paid him 80 in the first place and would have expected the card to have lasted longer than 5/6 weeks before being replaced. I have looked at the card which is white and has NLT printed on it their are two sets of numbers written on it by had which i presume are the ird n boxkey numbers, now if i were to buy an infinity pheonix programmer could i read this card and update it myself with the new pure ntl files. I have looked around the forum for a few days now and as i live on the east coast in the humber area i need the pure ntl files, i have downloaded the toolbar and see there are a number of card fixes for my area but i dont know what type of card i have or which fix i would use to reprogramme it or do i just buy a new blank funcard i also see that their are 2 new keys dated 30/9/8 for my area.I have a live sub to vm and have now put this box in the kids bedroom via my broadband conection upstairs and have the sub box in the living room ideally i would like to gethold of another box or buy a eurovox to replace the main one in the living room but i am not sure on what would be the best course of action to take, any help or advice would be much appreciated many thanks.

you shouldn't have been getting ondemand in the first place mate, the guy who done your box only chipped your card & not the box. He/she never cut the talkback on your box meaning the cable-co can see you are using the box. I would turn it of untill you get talkback sorted or order a 50db noise blocker of fleebay. I hate these guys doing this on people,i was a victim of it untill i found this forum,notting happened over it though thank fick.

Written on card you mean by pin/marker ect?
if thats your bk & ird on the card then happy days you wont need to see that guy again when your card goes done , you will just need to get get a programmer & a fun card & make a card yourself mate when needed. The card you have will need unlocked as it has been on stream so you will need a unlooper if you want to use that card but easiest option is a fun card....

4 weeks ago Vermin swept the country and knocked off loads of dodgy boxes, chances are he/she did an ok job but its just bad timing that it got knocked off, like a previous post states you shouldnt of been getting ppv/on demand anyway unless you got him/her to chip a subbed box in which case thats your own fault for letting him/her play with subbed gear that is registered to you, do you still have every other channel that you shouldnt be getting like sky movies/ sports etc? if you are then your mac has been blacked and even if you re-write 10 cards you will never get on demand back on, he/she is re-charging you as it may not be his/her fault it went off so you are re-buying his/her service, we call these people traders, i know you only got 5 weeks which may or may not be down to Vermin, but to be honest if i was paying for my box to be done i wouldnt mind paying £40 every 3-8 months, when you consider that it would cost you that every month if you did it legally, lucky for me i can do it lol, i guess some people are just not happy with free stuff, if you not happy with the service this person gave you, tell them but at the end of the day you can't really do a lot, you paid for a service then you alone illegally obtained cable tv, only option is to either A.learn to do it yourself but the numbers on your card are not the ones you need you need to look under your box and see if they are written in pen he/she will of done this, if not hard luck you will need a programmer, or B. just pay whomever did it but tell them that your not happy with what happened and if its down to him/her then to put it right, but like i said Vermin went mental about 4 weeks back so it may have been that in which case, they wont do it for free.
I just re-read this and it sounds like i did it and im defending myself but i assure you it wasn't me lol, just explaining the different possibilities

the cable company cannot see what you are doing not even with a subbed box


mac addresses get blacked all the time thats why there is no vod there is information on the 1024 chip would need to be alterd to get vod back on

you can change the mac address to a known working mac address and the last user account number to 0000000000 if make the computer think its a valid account number and grants vod and noone gets billed there is a thread about this on another forum posted by ''hyperhacker'' search around and you will see


but using vod is wrong always cut talkback dont be greedy you oget all the channels any way if you want vod use your subbed box

Thanks for the fast responses no its not a subed box and am not being greedy maybe its just the way i have come across with my explination, having never had one of these boxes before and being told that i will be able to get all and every type of channel available then i assumed that this was the norm for all boxes and cards it was not something that i specifically asked for that i should be able to get free ppv channels its just that after asking a couple of people they told me that this is what they get on their sets and just need updates about once twice a year, or are they telling me porkies

Generally they do only need updating once or twice a year but its pot luck as to how long it actually stays on, the PPV thing is a bit weird though anyone worth their salt ALWAYS cuts talkback, only reason you wouldnt cut tb is if its a subbed box coz if it vanished i think Vermin may ask why, if however your friends do not have a subscribed box then the guy that did it for them is just lazy

When the box came it was in its original box with everything in its packaging ie box leads remote all in sealed plastic bags just like if you had bought it from the high street my subscription box is untouched set up in the living room the chipped one is an smt 2100c so this needs the talkback removing yeh ??

Yeh on the card their is an 8 digit and 16 digit set of numbers/letters written in ink on the card so i do believe this to be the bk and ird serials

it sounds as though your details ARE on the card although why this is not on the bottom of your box i dont know, yes mate your modded 2100 needs talkback cutting, you will never get on demand again but it also stops Vermin trying to see what your up to, we're in the same town literally round the corner lol, if you want it sorting i'll bring my gear and show you how to do it
