If someone could give me some assistance that would be much appreciated.

press the pause button, then the record button. wait until about 10 seconds of recording, then stop. now go to your pvr and you should see the recording. i had the same issue and this solved it.

please post back your results as it may help others looking for a solution to the same problem.

In a fit of rage I opened the box (voiding the warranty in my madness) and I carefully put my old HD back in. The pins fitted fine but there was still no activity from the HD. However when I pushed down lightly on the main circuit board I noted the HD kicked in, albeit for a few minutes (i.e. until I took the pressure off). I then slightly loosened the two screws holding the HD pin housing and 'wallah' the HDD was live on its own accord. Surely Eurovox should have checked this before my box passed through its quality control??? ... yeah, what quality control !!!

had the exact same problem. The small hard drive circuit board wasn't connected to the main board properly.Just pushed down GENTLY on connecting pins and it came to life.
Thanks for this info saved me the hassle of sending box back.

i don't want to risk voiding the warranty in case that isn't the problem and I can't fix it.

Then send it back for a replacement. If the IDE connection is loose its an internal hardware problem and is covered under warranty. You have tried all other avenues.
