Default "harddrive is full or not installed"

I am having some problems getting my eurovox ex5000 harddrive working. It is a new hard drive and after turning it off, inserting the hd label upwards and waiting for it to format I get the keep getting the messege saying "harddrive is full or not installed".

If someone could give me some assistance that would be much appreciated.

reccomended hard drives are seagate and western digital up to max sise 120gb
the message full or not installed is normally given when no recordings are on the drive (you dont get the message when you have a recording)
try starting a recording to check its working.

The drive is a 120gb seagate and it came with the eurovox. When I press the record button during a program I get a message saying "no recording to play or no hard drive installed".

Yes. Any time I press any button to do with the hard drive like record, pvr..etc, one of these two messages comes up.."harddrive is full or not installed", "no recording to play or no hard drive installed".

I had this problem too but solved it by flashing the box again with HD installed in the box.
