Hey,
I've just found out about Eurovox boxes and am thinking about buying one. Just wanted a little advice. Which one should I buy? Where should I buy one? Will I have to update the box before I can view anything? Is it has easy has it sounds to do? Any comments or help or advice would be brillant! Thanks in advance! ![]() |

Yea just the same as me mustard99 :P he was very helpful
Which one should I buy? Depends what you want to do. If you want to pause/record/rewind/fast-forward live TV then get the Eurovox EX5000 PVR with a hard drive. Its £100 for the box and about £45 for the hard drive (120GB) he will put the hard drive in for u and test it all out and also but the 1.1a firmware on for u too!! Depending if u hav internet coming through your VM STB, you will need to get a splitter kit to split the VM coax cable into 2 or 3 so you can have both boxes having a feed at the same time (internet and tv) and also a null-modem cable to plug into your computer. This is only needed when you need to update the box due to VM changing their system thingy whatever they do to stop us lol, all dead easy m8 Where should I buy one? Lincsat's shop page on this forum or his personal website (lincsat co uk) Will I have to update the box before I can view anything? When you get it, just plug in and scan lol he will put the firmware on for you. In the future you will need to update it urself but a monkey could do it, theres guides on the forum bout this =) Is it as easy has it sounds to do? Yea very easy. Just do a powerscan when its plugged in and wait. Some channels will have a bad signal (sometimes?) but you can just manually ajust the frequency slightly to fine tune the signal for a better picture recording is dead easy, watching is dead easy, go for it! ![]() |

Cheers for the advice guys! One last question if anyone knows? Is that we used to have the full V.M. package coming into the house, we had it cut off a few months back but we still have the box connected and can view a few channels on it. Will this connection be fine for a Eurovox???
